Exceptional folk-art cane in monoxyle boxwood carved along its length with characters and oak leaves:

- the representation of Paradise in the handle with 3 men and 3 women, two of whom have a snake in one hand ;

- the representation of Purgatory with nine characters and

- the representation of Hell with the devil with his tail in three parts close to two people holding a snake in their hands.

-Finally, there is a sculpture of the head of God or the Devil (?) looking at the various scenes.

The ferrule is in horn.

Conditions: Very nice patina.

Provenance: French collector, whose grandfather was the artist who carved the cane.

Dimension: length of 86 cm.

France made circa 1900.
