Superb Fabergé cane with a rose quartz handle, revealing the natural white veining within the

stone.

The section beneath the handle is composed, at both the upper and lower levels, of finely worked

rose-gold mounts, together with two gold rings alternating between gold-set diamonds and green

enamel flower petals.

At the centre appears a decoration of vertical white enamel bands, characteristic of Fabergé’s

work.The lower ring bears the hallmarks “MP” for Michael Perchin and “56” indicating the gold

standard.

Black-stained wooden shaft with a horn ferrule.

Note: Michael Perchin (1860–1903) was one of the principal craftsmen working for the House of

Fabergé. He was chief master of Fabergé workshop from 1886 until his death in 1903. Renowned

for his mastery of enameling, he created complex motifs and translucent colour effects of

remarkable luminosity. Perchin’s works are typically marked with the “MP” hallmark.

He was succeeded by Henrik Wigström.
