Galerie Delalande Paris

Triangular boxwood monoxyle sculpture representing the allegory of discord leading to death.

On the left is Moses (with his horns) pointing at a snake representing evil. Next to him, Cain standing on the ground about to kill Abel symbolizes the scene of discord leading to death, represented here by the skeleton in front.

On the right is Abraham, blinded by faith, ready to sacrifice his son to God (Old Testament) but saved by the angel who stops his sword. A dog symbolizes faithfulness to God.

The two scenes converge on a dancing skeleton representing death.

The message of this scene is as follows: "You must not be blinded by faith and hatred (hate), or you will die".

The sculpture stands on three feet representing the heads of fantastic animals.
