Participation at the exhibition "Circinus" at the Galileo Museum in Florence
Following on from the exhibition held at the Arithmeum in Bonn, Galerie Delalande is delighted to participate in the new “Circinus” exhibition at the Galileo Museum in Florence, by lending the most important known 18th-century French architect's chest.
Commissioned from Jacques Canivet by the King Louis XV, this incredible chest containing some 160 architectural instruments was given as a gift to Count Charles-Pierre Claret de Fleurieu.
Director of ports and arsenals, he was the King's engineer for mathematical instruments and also worked for the Royal Academy of Sciences.
In addition to the collections of the Galileo Museum, visitors will also see the collections of the Arithmeum, the Kassel Astronomy and Physics Cabinet and Mr. Patrick Rocca.
Don't hesitate to visit this superb exhibition in Italy before the 15th of September 2024.
