Brass telescope signed in crown " M(on) de l'Ing(r) CHEVALLIER, Opticien Place du Pont Neuf, 15, Paris ". It is presented with its crank of adjustment on its tripod base in mahogany and also has an ocular train for the astronomical observation.
Note: Jean Gabriel Chevallier (1778/1848) worked at 15 place du Pont Neuf in Paris from 1820 to 1848. Under the sign "Maison de l'Ingénieur Chevallier". He is considered as the leader of the French opticians of his time.
Dimensions : length of the shaft of 116 cm x length in observation of 154 cm x triangle on the ground of 72 cm of side. Average dimensions in terrestrial observation version: length of 154 cm x height of 192 cm.
Average dimensions in celestial observation version: width/depth 70 cm/height 225 cm.
