Ivory diptych sundial signed Nicolaus Miller made circa 1650

Ivory diptych sundial with thread axis and lunar volvelle on the back of the upper face.

On the back of the base plate is an old collector's label and the maker's mark "NM" for Nicolaus Miller (active between 1642 and 1661, son of Leonhart Miller).

Dimensions : length 5.2 cm x depth 7 cm.

Provenance: ex Randier collection.

Nuremberg made circa 1650.
